Quest is hiring a Development Escalation Engineer to join in our syslog-ng team.
Syslog-ng is an enterprise grade central log management software to collect and process hundreds of thousands incoming log messages within a second. It is heavily used by the major fortune top 500 companies worldwide.
Development Escalation Team is a bunch of Sherlock are highly motivated in finding and fixing the root causes of the hardest Customer issues and product bugs or resolving outages. Our job begins when the average Systems Administrator feels totally
-Being part of a small team in R&D to help the Support team with the most problematic Customer issues
-Providing on-call support
-Investigating and documenting software bugs so that developers can start working on fixing them
-Fixing the critical problems of the Customers online, via conferencing tools and remote control (no on-site support is needed)
-Reproducing problems and building reproduction environments for core file analysis
-Helping the Development team and Product Owners to understand and manage the product issues and bugs
/ degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience
-Confident English both written and verbal
-Linux administration skills
-knowledge in TCP/IP networking and network debugging
-Understanding the basics of cryptography and PKI
-Experience in programming languages such as Bash, Python, C
-Ability & willingness to further develop yourself in the depth of Computer Science
-Team player with a helpful personality and a growth mindset
