The CRM Platform Manager owns Salesforce as a business-critical platform within IT. This individual contributor role operates as the product owner of the CRM platform, responsible for roadmap, configuration governance, architecture integrity, and alignment to revenue operations processes.

This role does not have direct reports.

 

Responsibilities

Platform Ownership

  • Define and manage Salesforce roadmap aligned to GTM strategy
  • Partner with Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, and Rev Ops leaders
  • Prioritize backlog and manage enhancement pipeline

Technical & Configuration Governance

  • Own platform configuration standards (flows, validation rules, objects)
  • Deep experience designing custom objects, complex automation and validation logic
  • Strong understanding of Salesforce data model design and normalization
  • Prevent technical debt and configuration sprawl
  • Oversee sandbox strategy and release management
  • Ensure role hierarchy and security model integrity

Business Process Alignment

  • Design scalable workflows for lead management, opportunity lifecycle, renewals, forecasting
  • Improve data quality and reporting reliability
  • Ensure CRM data integrity supports executive reporting

Integration Ownership

  • Partner with integration team to optimize integrations between Salesforce and:
    • Workday Financials
    • Data platform
    • Support tools
    • Engineering systems (if applicable)

Success Measures

  • High user adoption and forecast trust
  • Reduced manual process workarounds
  • Stable CRM environment with controlled change management

Qualifications

Experience

  • 6–10+ years Salesforce platform experience
  • Strong revenue operations process knowledge
  • Experience owning CRM roadmap
  • Integration and API fluency
  • Salesforce certifications preferred
