Corporate Product & Compliance Counsel

We are currently looking for a Senior Corporate Counsel – Product Compliance. This role will be a part of a small team that moves like a start-up but has expertise with enterprise-level compliance and approaches. The role will report directly to our General Counsel.
-This will be a unique role mixing large-scale Product Compliance support with general Product Counsel.
-Product Counsel will involve advising our software product leaders and helping set policy in AI use, data privacy, and other commonly relevant product compliance laws.
-Product Compliance support will involve managing and tracking trade and export compliance, sub-processor notifications, open-source compliance, SBOMs, and product accessibility compliance.
-Corporate IP management, including trademarks, patents, and copyrights.
-General data privacy compliance for vendors/procurement and marketing.
-Admitted and in good standing with applicable state bar (ability to provide academic and law firm credentials).
-8 years of experience.
-Solid understanding of SaaS solutions, data privacy, AI, and data security. On-premise software experience is a plus.
-Previous in-house experience at a software or technology company with cloud solutions.
-Willingness to learn and develop expertise in areas where current experience is lacking.
-High performer who is a self-starter, adaptable, comfortable with ambiguity, curious, and operates with a high degree of integrity.
-Collaborative nature and able to work with a mostly remote team.
-Proactive and able to work efficiently, prioritize workflow, meet demanding deadlines, and manage multi-dimensional projects in a fast-paced environment.
-Commercial experience with and understanding of contracts management principles and the ability to craft and implement legal policies and training.
-Intellectually curious with a growth mindset and the ability to create repeatable processes.
-Strong judgment, attention to detail, interpersonal and communication skills.
-Experience negotiating agreements with vendors and demanding customers is a plus.
-Can create simplified processes to help the company track overall compliance efficiently.
Preferences
-Experience defining, implementing, and updating policies and procedures in areas of rapid evolution such as privacy or AI.
-Experience developing and creating easily consumed training materials for the general employee base.
-Enjoy learning about and working with information security.
-Extra language proficiency.
