Responsibilities

  • Design Leadership: Ability to work independently with a multi-disciplinary product team, where you own the user experience of a product or feature and the design process from start to finish including research, ideation, wireframing, prototyping, testing and iteration. 
  • Design systems:  Knowledge of design systems and ability to contribute to the growth, maturity, adoption, and improvement of a design system ensuring usability, accessibility (e.g WCAG compliance), and consistency. 
  • Design support: Collaborate daily with Product Managers and engineers to revise functional and non-functional requirements, determine feasibility, review development work in progress, and support QA UI testing. 
  • Usability Testing: Conduct and design remote and in-person usability testing. Must be able to travel 1–2 times per year to conduct in-person research and workshops. Must demonstrate cultural sensitivity and the ability to engage effectively with customers from diverse geographic, linguistic, and ethnic backgrounds. 
  • Mentoring junior team members: Able to impart knowledge and skills to facilitate development and growth of more junior team members.

Qualifications

 UI/UX Expertise: 

  • 5+ years of experience in UI/UX Product design, with a strong portfolio showcasing complex, multi-platform solutions. 
  • BA or BS in UX Design or relevant professional experience 
  • Proven ability to design for technical users of SaaS, B2B and B2C platforms. 
  • A strong portfolio of work demonstrating the responsibilities and requirements listed. 

 Cybersecurity and Tech sector Knowledge: 

  • Experience designing for technical or cyber security industries is a plus but not essential. 
  • Experience in designing highly technical software interfaces for web and desktop use.  

 Data-Driven Design: 

  • Strong capability to not just use but gather research, data analytics, and behavioural insights to inform design decisions. 
  • Proficiency in analytics tools for gathering and reviewing qualitative and quantitative data. 

 Technical Skills: 

  • Expertise in Figma, with experience in advanced prototyping, component design and development, Icon creation, design tokens and variables. 
  • Familiarity with front-end technologies and frameworks (e.g., HTML/CSS, Angular) to collaborate effectively with developers. 
  • Experience in designing components for Angular, or other similar frameworks, desirable. 

 Accessibility and Standards: 

  • Strong understanding of accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG) and ability to design for diverse user needs 

 Collaboration and Communication: 

  • Excellent communication skills 
  • Ability to present design concepts and rationales 
  • Ability to critique and provide constructive feedback on other team members’ work. 
  • Experience working in cross-functional teams, bridging design, product, and engineering to build a stronger design culture. 
  • Ensure a smooth handover of any designs to engineers, while maintaining an ownership of the feature/product design. 
  • Strategic Vision: Ability to take a strategic approach to design, aligning UI/UX goals with overall business and product objectives.
