This is a technical hands-on position responsible for the day-to-day support of Quest Software's global data/voice network/Security infrastructure.  This includes support of the network infrastructure and related vendor circuits and services in addition to planning, ordering, and maintaining new circuit/equipment to support the evolving business needs.  The network infrastructure is the "highway" that allows Quest Software's associates to access internally/externally hosted applications in addition to voice telephone systems and conference bridge tools.  Part of a global team of network engineers who meet regularly to collaboratively discuss on-going support issues and projects.

 

* This is a 100% remote position for candidates living in Panama

Responsibilities

- Design, implement, and manage enterprise-level network solutions.

- Configure and troubleshoot routers, switches, firewalls, and other network devices.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define network requirements and develop solutions.

- Monitor network performance and ensure reliability and availability.

- Conduct regular network assessments to identify areas for improvement.

- Provide technical support and guidance to junior network engineers.

- Implement and enforce network security measures to protect against unauthorized access and vulnerabilities.

- Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies to recommend innovative solutions.

- Collaborate with vendors and other IT professionals to resolve network-related issues.

- Create and maintain comprehensive network documentation.

- Part of a global support team and a member of a 24x7 on call rotation program

- Some travel required

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience related field.

- Proven experience as a Network Engineer, with at least 8 years in a senior role.

- Strong knowledge of secure networking practices.

- Experience with networking equipment such as Cisco, SonicWall, Fortinet, Dell, F5.

- In-depth understanding of network security principles and best practices.

- Solid understanding of cloud networking (e.g., AWS, Azure).

- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

- Relevant certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, or equivalent are highly desirable.

- WAN technologies utilizing multiple vendor implementation.

- Hands on network experience supporting and troubleshooting all aspects of data/voice networks/security and associated devices with a global distribution

- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment

- Experience configuring and supporting Solar Winds Orion monitoring software.

- Capable of working well in a team environment and able to self-manage when working independently

- Voice system background including Cisco Unity Connection, Cisco Call Center Enterprise and Cisco Unified Call Manager
