We are looking for a Software Engineering Manager to take a leadership role within Quest’s Platform Management Group reporting out of the Quest Slovakia lab. They will manage the development of existing products in our portfolio, adopt operational efficiencies, and drive continual process improvement. The candidate will work closely with the rest of the management team to make the Slovakia development lab a center of excellence, as well as a great place to work for all our employees.  An ideal candidate will bring inspirational leadership and people skills, and sound technical expertise, to motivate and guide various projects in our lab. Their experience bringing together multi-functional and remote teams will help us deliver results on various initiatives. Being customer focused and having a track record of delivering quality projects on time is crucial. Above all, the perfect candidate can work through challenging situations by motivating the teams to innovatively create a path to success.

-Manage on-prem and SaaS products

-Manage and provide direct technical leadership to a global team of engineers

-Work with product managers to break customer requirements into features and stories for development team

-Work with product managers to define release scope and manage backlogs

-Work with security experts to ensure security and compliance best practices are followed

-Work with engineering teams to ensure Quest Engineering best practices are followed

-Mentor architects and software engineers

-4+ years working experience in software development

-1+ years management experience (resource/technical or combination)

-Experience working with multiple agile development teams

-Experience working with highly remote and distributed development teams

-Knowledge of development best practices (no coding required)

-Mediate and resolve conflict in a team environment, solve problems, and make decisions

-Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills

-Good interpersonal skills and ability to work well in a team environment

 Preferences

-Completion of a Computer Science undergraduate degree or equivalent desired but not required

-Experience with SaaS applications hosted in Microsoft Azure

-Experience with Microsoft Azure DevOps for application lifecycle management

-Experience with applications build on Microsoft technology stack, especially Azure
