Our team in Hungary consists of more than 160 employees, with more than 130 engineers, including developers, test automation engineers, UI/UX designers, DevOps experts, internal IT and Support engineers. We are a rapidly growing company, we are currently looking for a Product Manager to join in our syslog-ng team.

 

Syslog-ng is an enterprise grade central log management software to collect and process hundreds of thousands incoming log messages within a second. It is heavily used by the major fortune top 500 companies worldwide.

Responsibilities

  • Close collaboration with the VP of Product Management.
  • Close collaboration with other groups affected by the product (e.g. support, marketing, sales, pre-sales, services, product owners). Facilitating communication within and across teams.
  • Collaborate with the VP of Product Management in developing and updating a 3-5-year product vision and 1-2-year product strategy.
  • Designing, preparing, accepting, and implementing a 6-12-month roadmap for a specific function group of the product. Defining Cadence targets based on product roadmap and backlog, providing detailed planning information to ATL, supporting cadence-level design.
  • Considering cadence implementation, continuous adoption of completed items, making decisions relating to releases, and announcement and communication of the releases.
  • Problem solving for sprint / iteration, scheduling, rescheduling tasks (e.g.: sprint interruption, BLI scope change).
  • Problem solving, scheduling, rescheduling, and deciding on content type sub-questions.
  • Assess, analyze and eliminate risks associated with different product development trends.
  • Managing and evaluating development needs for the product.
  • Participation in Feature design processes, representation of business needs.
  • Assessing customer needs through customer visits.
  • Knowledge and analysis of product competitions.
  • Active participation in product positioning, identification of messages.
  • Produce regular reports and statistics on product development.
  • Regular communication with representatives of related areas. Contact and collaboration with product management, commerce, marketing, product development, support and finance.
  • Holding presentations, possibly at an external location.
  • Managing critical situations (customer escalations) in accordance with valid policies to support Tech Support.
  • Strengthens relationships with key clients, if necessary, with a personal presence.
  • Active participation and suggestion in the development, development and implementation of product and development internal processes.
  • Actively participates in the assimilation of the new entrants of the company group, in the training of colleagues entering the related fields, in the internal training of the staff.
  • Supporting the recruitment and selection process (e.g. conducting interviews and evaluating professional tests, etc.).
  • Active participation in employer branding (e.g. participation in relevant events, etc.).
  • Following up factors influencing the operation and effectiveness of the team from the results of continuous measurements (e.g. team health check) on product mission, vision, roadmap, product design.
  • Responsible for representing the product's vision, strategy and roadmap towards the team, and for knowing the product.
  • Make suggestions for team members to develop plans (such as attending conferences, trainings).
  • Make suggestions for processes that affect your area and other departments.
  • Propose strategic technological development and updating (e.g. architecture, testing methodology, development methodology, sustainability, etc.).

Qualifications

  • An undergraduate B.Sc. degree or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of relevant experience, e.g. product management, program management, marketing or technical sales experience in the logging, audit or SIEM market,
  • Strong communication skills,
  • Experience working with customers,
  • Passion for technology and customers, and business strategy skills as well as high energy and passion for their work,
  • Strong project management skills in addition to a technical understanding of logging, auditing and security products, related companies and markets is required,
  • Experience in an “agile development” workplace,
  • Experience leading a team of product managers, product owners or other staff.

 

Preferences

 

  • Experience with Unix, Linux and IT operations.
  • MBA
  • Pragmatic Marketing certified
  • Experience with Active Directory or other technical products.
