About being a One Identity Technical Writer: 

We are primarily responsible for researching and writing the original content for technical user documentation explaining complex computer software solutions in the IT Security industry. We proactively initiate usability-related discussions with the development teams, and we have a real impact. Hiring process 

-We will ask you to send us your CV. 

-If your CV is selected, you will be invited to schedule a screening call with the Recruitment Business Partner. In this call, we will discuss your experience, understand what you are looking for in a Technical Writing role, talk about your work and approach to technical-writing, discuss your compensation expectations and reasons why you want to join One Identity, and answer any questions you have

-We will ask for 2-3 sample documents that you wrote

-Next, if you successfully pass the screening call, you will complete a test that measures various technical writing competencies, skills, and attitude

-If you pass the test, you will be invited to schedule a 60-90-minute interview with our Technical Writer Team Lead and members of the Team. In this interview, we will ask you to share with us your experiences up till now. We aim to understand what you are looking for in this position and answer any questions you have. Note that this will not be a classic panel interview, but closer to a semi-informal discussion where you will have the chance to meet your future teammates and get a sense of what working with us will be like

Responsibilities

-Analyze development requirements to determine the content deliverables (e.g., documentation, UI content) for a project

-Write, review, and maintain technical documentation and UI content

-Collaborate with developers to become familiar with product technology and to collect and verify information for documentation purposes

-Develop and maintain a strong understanding of products and customer use cases

-Adhere to technical documentation standards

-Conduct technical and peer reviews of documentation to ensure consistent quality of the documentation set

-Ensure documentation and UI content usability by testing their validity against the product

-Identify contradictions, technical omissions, and inaccuracies in documentation, UI content and product

-Collaborate with other teams to improve documentation processes to increase efficiency and quality of product documentation and UI content

-Contribute to improving development processes and product usability

 

Additional responsibilities as a Deputy Team Leader 

-Support the Team Leader by taking over some of the operative responsibilities 

-Drive discussions and facilitate team decision making 

-Identify where we could do better and be better

-Eventually lead a team on their own

Qualifications

-8+ (senior) / 5+ (normal) years of technical writing experience documenting enterprise level software applications  

-Native or near-native command of English

-Proactive, self-motivated and has a can-do attitude. 

-Excellent writing and editing skills, and strong organization skills

-Inquiring mind with meticulous attention to detail

-Critical thinking to formulate questions that focus on investigating documentation- UI content- or product-related inconsistencies

-Recognizes patterns

-Creativie in the preparation of documents while being compliant with company standards

-Experienced in using enterprise-level documentation toolchains and/or doc-as-code. For example, source control systems (Git, SVN or TFS), XML- or HTML-editors (MadCap Flare, oXygen, etc.) and topic-based authoring

-Works independently with little supervision

-Works with and communicates effectively with a team of writers and developers located around the world

-Enjoys autonomy, is excited to bring in and drive innovative ideas

-Is interested in being mentored in leadership and eventually would lead a team on their own
